About Our Credit Union

• Mission Statement:
  MET Credit Union is a cooperative financial organization of qualified and caring professionals, the kind of people you can depend on to give exceptional service to members at a competitive rate. We have a commitment to maintain a high standard of excellence in all that we do, and to establish a firm relationship of mutual trust and service with each of our members.

• History:
  MET Credit Union is a state of Wisconsin chartered credit union. Started in 1936, a group of teachers determined that there was a need for a financial organization for teachers in the Eau Claire school district. Over the course of years, the credit union has grown from a membership of 20 original members to over 2000 members. We have expanded our field of membership to include anyone who lives or works in Eau Claire, Dunn, or Chippewa County. We have moved from serving our members from the homes of our presidents to having a permanent office location.

• Our Credit Union is very committed to the education of our personnel to better serve the expanding needs of our members. Our purpose is to give our members professional service at a competitive rate and to be supportive of our community. Our bylaws specify "once a member, always a member" as long as a minimum balance is maintained. There are many retirees and out-of-town members who continue to be active in the credit union.
